My daughter’s 2 week Christmas break is finally over. She went back to school this morning and I was the one who drove her. I stayed at school for awhile and tried to observe the atmosphere… I stayed until their flag raising ceremony was over and tried to hear what their principal was saying. One of their students, a grade 4 pupil died when typhoon Sendong hit our city. It was sad to know what the boy, named Josh, had experienced. His mom was an OFW and was out of the country at that time. Josh never met his dad as his parents separated when he was a baby (that’s what I’ve heard). During that eerie night, he was with his yaya (nanny). They said he was able to talk to his mom before he and the nanny drowned. It was sad, so depressing to hear his story. I don’t know what the mother felt that night or even until now. I wish she brought her son with her. Or I wish she stayed with him. Or I wish, I wish, I wish nobody died that frightful night…
They offered a prayer for Josh and I hope wherever he is right now, I pray that he is in a better place. I pray for his soul and for his family that he left. But I wish that there will be no more typhoon that will hit our city, I wish that no thousands of people will die because of calamities & negligence caused by the people itself and I wish that those affected will slowly recover from physical, emotional and psychological trauma. And I wish for a better 2012…
