I totally have a time for myself. My 2 princesses are asleep and now it’s time for me to blog. I just hope they will take a nap longer so that I can update my other blogs as well. I guess some mommies out there that it’s quite hard to blog while the kids are awake, especially the babies for they need much of our attention. Even when we are not blogging, we often wish they would not bother us that much. I’m just reminded of my husband who sometimes complained how messy is our bedroom when he comes home. Sometimes, he can’t help scold our eldest daughter for scattering her toys and books anywhere. Often, I agree with him but most of the time, I told him to let kids be. I told him to remind ourselves, as parents, that we should be glad instead that we have active kids at home. Making a mess means to say that our kids are okay, are healthy and safe at home. I’d rather have that than a very neat and quiet house with sickly kids. With that, my husband stopped complaining. I guess he got my point.

What I’m trying to say here is that we should try to understand that kids will undergo many phases and we should let them be. Although it is also the parents’ responsibilities in instilling in them proper values and to teach them how to keep their things, but if they want to play, let them play. If they want to scatter their things to play, let them but tell them also to return it afterwards. Or if they don’t, they can’t play the next day or their time of playing will be shortened next time.

But I don’t say my technique is effective but I constantly remind my kids, especially the eldest until she will finally get it. How about you? What’s your style? Is it effective? I’d appreciate if you share me your story

My eldest daughter is quite excited to present her talent at school. She said she’s going to sing and she’s been practicing a song since weekend. Good thing that I enrolled her to a piano school that also offered voice lesson. Her teacher helped her practice her piece. I think she’s going to present next week. And I hope she will be confident in showing off her talent. But so far, she’s very excited so I guess I should not worry on that.

I came from a musically-inclined family. My late dad was good in playing the guitar and so are my two brothers. They are also good in playing drums and keyboard while I quite excel with the vocals. I knew how to strum the guitar but not as good as my brothers. My second elder brother is more confident in playing bass guitar. He joined a band before where he competed and won third place. He still plays the guitar right now with his office mates and friends. He once mentioned that he and his friends wanted to buy epiphone bass guitars as well as electric guitar. Music is their favorite past time that’s why they thought of playing the music together when they are free from their work.
