My eldest daughter is 8 years old and I’ve continued to discipline her. I want my child to have manners and I’m still going to apply this to her baby sister once she started talking and all. But right now, there are other 2 kids with us. They stayed with us together with the mother and my in-laws when their house was hit by flood. I’m very much thankful that they are all safe most especially the kids since they are just 3 1/2 and 11 years old. And the kids easily adapted to our home. However, I was quite horrified of how they behaved. If I were their mom, I will really scold them and give them a spank on their butts. The 3 1/2 year old girl kept on saying foul words that I can’t help it but to confront her. I know she’s just 3 but discipline should be instilled at this age. I just CANNOT accept the words that she utter. Just awhile ago, she was playing with her brother and my daughter and she shouted angrily to my daughter ‘So What!!’. Her mom left her kids at home to attend urgent matters. I got so irked with what I’ve heard that I talked to the child. I asked her if she’s already too old coz she talked that way. I could tell from her eyes that she was scared. She shook her head. So I told her not to utter that word or any kinds of foul words coz I will not stop disciplining her.
Her older brother is kind of slow for his age but he can be taught. And he badly needs discipline. He kept getting my daughter’s things without permission or even our other things. I told him to never EVER do that. He should asked permission first. So, he returned the things he took. I let him play but with the right toys. Not the dolls and not those dangerous items. Another thing, they kept running to and fro and banging the door. I was never like that when I was a kid nor my brothers. I talked to them again if they knew how to fix the door in case it’s destroyed. I did the reverse psychology and I don’t know if it’s effective.
My goshling, why am I left with these kids? My brother in law is here to look after them but he’s doing other things. I’m also looking after my baby who is having fever today. If they will give me a headache, well, they can really hear me scolding them. I know I should stretch my patience for they are just kids. But what I don’t like is hearing some foul words and I also don’t like hitting. I’ve seen the little girl hit her brother and I don’t like it. If their mom think it’s okay, for me it’s NOT! I’ll never tolerate such actions and I will never allow it to happen inside my house!.
